Lessons
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced rider our goal is to provide lessons that are safe, enjoyable and educational. We offer lessons by a certified riding instructor for all ages 7 years old and up. An orientation class is required for all new riders to familiarize them with the proper procedures for grooming and tacking up the horse as well as leading it in hand to the arena and back to its stall in a safe manner.
ASTM or SEI approved helmets must be worn during lessons. We have several sizes available for use by our students. We also provide all tack and the use of our lesson horses. Western saddles are available for new riders until they feel comfortable enough to move on to an English saddle. All riders should wear a boot or paddock shoe with a one inch heal for stability in the stirrups. (You are welcome to use your own tack and horse if you wish.)
While on horseback, we stress proper control of the horse using natural aids for effective communication between the horse and rider. Riders gradually move on to more challenging
tasks only when they have mastered the basics and feel comfortable with their abilities.
Lesson Rates Effective September 1, 2008
Group (3 or more riders): Still only $20.00 per hour per
rider
Semi-Private (2 riders): $30.00 per hour per rider
Private (1 rider): $40.00 per hour
4-H Members receive a 10 % discount on all lessons.
Lessons are conducted on weekdays from 4 PM to 8PM
